This year, CACTES is partnering up with BESO Foundation to sponsor girls who are struggling to fulfill her dreams. CACTES is currently sponsoring two girls in Uganda to get quality education, meals at school, school uniforms/shoes and school supplies such as books and writing utensils.
Meet Nabatanzi Shukurah!
Nabatanzi is 7 years old from a family of 2 children that lives on less than $2 a day. She lives in the Kiwangula Village and it takes her 40 minutes to walk to school everyday. When she grows up, she aspires to be a teacher. She recently performed in the school Music Dance and Drama competition and is also a member of the Debate club. Nabatanzi is among the best 5 students in her class of 57 students. This term, Nabantanzi performed particularly well in her literature course!
Meet Nakayiza Mary!
Mary is the third born from a family of 5 children and lives with her mother, Nangobi Racheal, who is a peasant farmer. Her long-term goal is to become a doctor when she grows up. Nakayiza's best subjects in school are English and Literature. She places within the top 10% of her class and is the class monitor as well as a member of the school's public speaking club.
